I made this frame at the end of 2019 at The Bicycle Academy on the 10 day frame building course which helped sharpen my skills and expand my frame building knowledge.
The whole reason I went on the course was to make sure what I had been teaching myself was correct and up to par with the extremely high standards set by TBA.
The main skills I felt most improvement on was fillet brazing and capillary brazing.
Previously it was all guess work and I didn’t feel in control with what I was doing. After going through the theory and after the first few days of practice with Tom and Ed, I felt very confident and competent to set the torch up and produce a solid fillet with a uniform bead on various shapes and tube angles.
The gravel bike was designed for use on the local trails and would feel at home on the rough stuff especially with 700 x 45c tyres fitted.
