Dave’s Audax Bike
Dave was very particular when it came to his build with internal dynamo routing, saddlebag support and a bi-laminated head and seat tube, it was no mean feat, and would test my frame building knowledge and skills to the limits.
This is what makes customs builds so exciting, being able to listen and understand what the customer wants and help bring their vision to life.
The frame is built using a mix of Columbus Spirit and Life tubing and features a bi laminated head tube that has been hand carved to give a lugged appearance with out compromising frame geometry.
Other features on the frame include fully lined internal routed brake cabling on the down tube and fork blade, this gives the frame a clean look and is a breeze to replace when it comes to servicing.
Dave runs Motorlegs a local bike shop in Cardiff and of course had to have the logos on the frame. The paint carried out by Summit Customs has been inspired by the colours from Dave’s old school. The dark maroon fading to black with gold lining and logos really gives a sophisticated and classic look.
