HUGH’S STAINLESS STEEL ELAN
Stianless Steel Endurance Road Bike
About
Hugh’s Stainless Steel Elan
Hugh was after an endurance road bike for all day comfort on his local roads and lanes.
Being 6ft 4 he stuggled to find something that fit him correctly and would modify his exisiting bikes with huge stacks of spacers to bring him to a comfortable position.
With its comfortable endurance geometry and the ability to run 32s the ELAN was the ideal choice.
The bike fit revealed that Hugh has limited movement when pedalling and would roll his body to allow him to carry out a pedal revolution. To help solve this unwanted body movement a short crank of 165mm was used to reduce the height he needed to lift his leg.
The frame is built using Columbus XCR tubing and features fully lined stainless steel internal cable routing to keep things looking clean and simple. Columbus XCR was used as Hugh rides all year round.
Hugh wanted to keep the raw stainless steel exposed and on show. A blue flaked fade front end to raw rear carried out by Summit Customs gives a simple, contemporary look and feel to the frame.
